Gregory James Jenkins is a songwriter and composer in Los Angeles, CA. After growing up outside Detroit, MI he moved to Boston, MA to study music synthesis at the Berklee College of Music.
Following college he moved to Los Angeles, CA and began writing music for commercials at Machine Head Sound & Music in 2008. In 2011, he began working with director Todd Strauss-Schulson and wrote several cues for “Harold and Kumar’s 3D Christmas.” In 2015 Jenkins, (well me, or “I,” cause let’s be honest, we all know who’s writing this) saw the release of his first feature film score for “The Final Girls” while also beginning work scoring his first animated series, Disney Jr.’s “Goldie & Bear.” Since then he’s gone on to work on scoring more animated series (T.O.T.S., Hell Den, Chicken Squad), written songs for ads, film and tv with his songwriting team Casual Young Italians, and in 2020 won the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy award for Outstanding Original Song for his work on “Brainwashed by Toons.”
In his spare time he enjoys soldering, tiki drinks, and playing his keytar at open sea.
